Pakistan News: Pakistan has been going through a period of severe economic crisis for the last few months. Pakistanis had hoped that they would get some relief after the formation of the new government in the past, but the recent statement of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari may add to the roots of their hopes. Holding former Prime Minister Imran Khan responsible for the current economic crisis in Pakistan, Bilawal has asked the people to give some time to the current Shahbaz Sharif government for economic and electoral reforms.

‘Pakistan was saved by the removal of the selected government’

Addressing a gathering in Larkana on Tuesday to mark the 69th birth anniversary of his mother Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan’s foreign minister said Imran’s “selected government” was necessary to remove as it had become a threat to Pakistan’s economy and democracy. Bilawal said, “Pakistan was saved by the removal of the selected government.” Let us inform that Imran had to lose power in April this year after losing the no-confidence motion in Parliament. Imran has been continuously demanding fresh elections since his removal from the post.

‘Imran played a dangerous game in the name of giving subsidy’
Bilawal said, ‘Give some time to Shahbaz Sharif’s government for economic and electoral reforms. We hope that the troubles created by the previous government then, we will come out of them. He claimed that Imran had made a ‘wrong deal with the IMF’ and played a dangerous game with the country in the name of giving petroleum subsidy. Bilawal said that because of this move of Imran, Pakistan reached the verge of bankruptcy.

Bilawal recalls his mother Benazir’s struggles
Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal expressed hope that Pakistan will be removed from the “doubt list” during the plenary meeting of the Paris-based global money laundering and terror funding watchdog Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to be held in October. Pakistan People’s Party chief Bilawal recalled his mother Benazir’s struggles for the restoration of democracy. Benazir was the first female elected prime minister in the Islamic world. Benazir was assassinated in 2007 during an election rally in Rawalpindi.
