उत्तर-योग का हमारे जीवन में बहुत ही महत्व है। योग शब्द की उत्पत्ति संस्कृत के युज शब्द से हुई है; जिसका अर्थ होता है जुड़ना या एक जुट होना। योग में अलग-अलग आसन होते हैं, जिसे अगर हम नियमित रूप से करें तो जीवन में बहुत लाभ होता है। योग हमारे मन, शरीर और आत्मा को नियंत्रित करने में बहुत मदद करता है इसके अलावा हमारे शारीरिक, मानसिक, आध्यात्मिक और सामाजिक जीवन में यह बहुत उपयोगी है। इसीलिए हमें नियमित रूप से योग करना चाहिए।

योग का इतिहास-ऐसा माना जाता है कि योग का जन्म प्राचीन भारत में हुआ था। उस वक्त हिमालय में एक झील पर आदियोगी ने अपने योग विज्ञान को सात ऋषियों को दिया था। इन ऋषियों ने ही योग विज्ञान को विश्व के विभिन्न भागों में फैलाया है। इसके अलावा सरस्वती और सिंधु सभ्यता के प्राचीन अवशेषों में भी योग की मौजूदगी का प्रमाण मिलता है। इन सभ्यताओं के अध्ययन करने से पता चलता है कि वहाँ एक गुरु के प्रत्यक्ष मार्गदर्शन में लोगों को योग का अभ्यास कराया जाता था। इस तरह योग का जन्म हुआ। उसके बाद महर्षि पतंजलि ने योग को आत्मसात किया और इसके सभी पहलुओं को एक निश्चित रूप में शामिल किया जिसे आज हम योग सूत्र कहते हैं। इसी समय दुनिया के ज्यादातर लोगों तक योग का ज्ञान पहुँचा था। इसलिए महर्षि पतंजलि को आधुनिक योग का पिता कहा जाता है।

योग का महत्व-कुछ सालों पहले सिर्फ आयुर्वेदिक रूप से ही योग को महत्व दिया जाता था। लेकिन वर्तमान में वैज्ञानिक रूप से भी योग को महत्व दिया जाता है। आज तो डॉक्टर भी अपने मरीजों को योग करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करते हैं। क्योंकि इससे हमारे शरीर की रोग प्रतिकारक शक्ति बढ़ती है और शरीर रोगमुक्त बनता है। इसलिए योग को मनुष्य का शारीरिक और मानसिक उपचार कहा जाता है। अगर हम नियमित रूप से योग का अभ्यास करें तो जीवन में नकारात्मक विचारों से छुटकारा पा सकते हैं। इसके अलावा योग करने से मनुष्य की रीढ़ की हड्डी में लचीलापन आता है। जिससे हमारी शारीरिक स्थिति हमेशा स्वस्थ रहती है। योग हमारे अंदर ध्यान और एकाग्रता को बढ़ाता है। योग मनुष्य के शरीर की अनुशासन में लाकर तनाव और चिंता को दूर करने में मदद करता है।

योग के ऐसे असंख्य लाभों की वजह से ही वर्तमान में योग की लोकप्रियता बहुत अधिक है। एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार दुनिया में करीब 2 अरब से ज्यादा लोग हर रोज योगभ्यास करते हैं। योग से दुनिया के हर व्यक्ति को लाभ होना चाहिए ऐसा भारत का लक्ष्य है। इसलिए भारत के प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी जी ने 21 जून को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस के रूप में मनाने की घोषणा की थी जिसमें पहली बार लगभग विश्व में 192 देशों ने विश्व योग दिवस मनाया था। इसी दिन भारत की राजधानी दिल्ली में करीब 35985 लोगों ने एक साथ योग किया, जिसमें 84 देशों के प्रतिनिधि मौजूद ये।

योग की मुख्य आसन-भारत के योग गुरु बाबा रामदेव के अनुसार योग के कुल 84 आसन है। जिसमें मुख्य तौर पर मयूरासन, शीर्षासन, भुजंगासन, ताड़ासन, बजासन, धनुरासन, सिंहासन, गरुड़ासन, पद्मासन, गोमुखासन, हलासन, मत्स्यासन आदि सबसे ज्यादा किये जाते है इन सभी आसनों का अपना अलग-अलग महत्व है परन्तु इन सभी आसनों का लक्ष्य हमेशा एक ही होता है मनुष्य को लाभ पहुँचाना। हमारे प्रत्येक अंग को स्वस्थ रखने की लिए इन आसनों का उपयोग करना बहुत ही आवश्यक है।

योग के लाभ-

(1) शरीर हड्डियाँ मजबूत व स्वस्थ रहती है। (2) मांसपेशियाँ लचीला होती है।

(3) योग करने से मुनष्य की रोग प्रतिरोधक शक्ति बढ़ती है।

(4) योग से शारीरिक थकान व कमजोरियाँ दूर होती है।

(5) योग से हमारा मन स्फूर्ति रहता है।

(6) योग से अच्छी नींद की प्राप्ति होती है।

(7) हृदय संबंधी बीमारियाँ, ब्लडप्रेशर को नियंत्रित करने में और कब्ज या पाचन की समस्या को दूर करने के लिए भी लाभदायक है।

(8) अस्थमा तथा मधुमेह जैसी बीमारी भी योग से ठीक होती है।

(9) शीर्षासन से शरीर का रक्त प्रवाह पूरे शरीर में होता है। जिससे हमारी त्वचा में निखार आता है।


Answer-Yoga is very important in our life. The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word Yuj; Which means to join or unite. There are different postures in yoga, which if we do it regularly, then there are many benefits in life. Yoga helps a lot in controlling our mind, body and soul besides it is very useful in our physical, mental, spiritual and social life. That’s why we should do yoga regularly.

History of Yoga – It is believed that yoga originated in ancient India. At that time, on a lake in the Himalayas, Adiyogi had given his yoga science to the seven sages. These sages have spread the science of yoga to different parts of the world. Apart from this, evidence of the presence of yoga is also found in the ancient remains of Saraswati and Indus civilization. Studying these civilizations shows that people were made to practice yoga there under the direct guidance of a guru. Thus yoga was born. After that Maharishi Patanjali assimilated yoga and included all its aspects in a definite form which we today call the Yoga Sutras. At this time, the knowledge of yoga had reached most of the people of the world. That is why Maharishi Patanjali is called the father of modern yoga.

Importance of Yoga- A few years ago, importance was given to yoga only in Ayurvedic form. But at present, importance is given to yoga even scientifically. Even today doctors encourage their patients to do yoga. Because it increases the immunity power of our body and the body becomes disease free. That’s why yoga is said to be the physical and mental treatment of man. If we practice yoga regularly then we can get rid of negative thoughts in life. Apart from this, doing yoga brings flexibility in the human spine. Due to which our physical condition always remains healthy. Yoga enhances our focus and concentration. Yoga helps in removing stress and anxiety by bringing in discipline of the human body.

Due to such innumerable benefits of yoga, the popularity of yoga is very high at present. According to a report, more than 2 billion people in the world practice yoga everyday. Yoga should benefit every person in the world, it is the goal of India. That’s why the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi had announced to celebrate 21 June as International Yoga Day, in which for the first time 192 countries in the world celebrated World Yoga Day. On this day, about 35985 people did yoga together in Delhi, the capital of India, in which representatives of 84 countries were present.

Main Asanas of Yoga – According to India’s yoga guru Baba Ramdev, there are total 84 asanas of yoga. In which mainly Mayurasana, Shirshasan, Bhujangasana, Tadasana, Bajasan, Dhanurasana, Throne, Garudasan, Padmasana, Gomukhasana, Halasana, Matsyasana etc. are done the most. There is only one thing to benefit human beings. It is very necessary to use these asanas to keep each and every part of our body healthy.

Benefits of yoga-

(1) Body bones remain strong and healthy. (2) Muscles are flexible.

(3) By doing yoga, the immunity power of a person increases.

(4) Yoga removes physical fatigue and weaknesses.

(5) Yoga keeps our mind energetic.

(6) Good sleep is achieved by yoga.

(7) It is also beneficial in controlling heart related diseases, blood pressure and to remove constipation or digestion problem.

(8) Diseases like asthma and diabetes are also cured by yoga.

(9) The blood flow of the body through headstand is done throughout the body. Due to which our skin glows.
